CodeMeter Runtime is the end-user component of Wibu-Systems AG’s CodeMeter licensing and protection platform. It runs as a background service that enables protected applications to locate, validate, and enforce software licenses securely. Commonly installed alongside protected software or deployed centrally, it is required for applications that use CodeMeter-based licensing.

Key capabilities:

• Supports multiple license container types, including hardware dongles (CmDongle), software-based licenses (CmActLicense), and cloud licenses (CmCloudLicense).
• Provides local and network license services for node-locked, floating/concurrent, and borrowable licenses.
• Offers online and offline activation, license transfer, and repair tools.
• Includes administrative interfaces (such as CodeMeter Control Center and WebAdmin) for viewing, activating, and diagnosing licenses.
